Dear First Grade Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Laura Ortiz and I will be your child's first grade teacher for the 2012-2013 school year at Castroville Elementary.
This week your child will complete one of the most important milestones in his/her life - the first day of school! I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his/her full potential. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead.
I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. I will also do my part by keeping this website updated and sending a newsletter weekly to keep you informed on what we are doing in class as well as upcoming events. For individual concerns, I will send a note, call you, or email you (if email is provided).
Please feel free to participate in your child's First Grade year as much as you are able to do so. Helping hands are always needed. Whether it be reading a story to the class, helping with parties, or any other type of participation, your child will be greatly impacted.
